anaging a website can be done by you, or you can hire a web developer. It just depends on the complexity of your website, your comfort level, and time you have to dedicate to website maintenance.

Since every website is more or less a custom solution, I can not recommend one content management system over another one without discussing your project first. Some times a custom solution where I create a custom set of tools for your website is more cost effective and easier to manage than trying to make it work in an open source CMS like Wordpress or Joomla. Your project requirements, budget and timeline to complete are all factors in deciding on the best approach.

Listed below are examples of content management system websites I have developed. Some are custom websites in which I used PHP and MySQL databases to build browser based tools for the website owner to be able to edit the data. Others used open source CMS like Joomla and Wordpress. Joomla installation and customization. Used a combination of chronoforms, jevents and DT Register to accommodate their unique paid member registration and paid meeting signup process, based on the member type.

I worked along side the web designer to custom code a PHP CMS to enable company to schedule and manage their employees. Password protected back end content management tools were built with multiple levels of user access. Multiple tools were created to insert,edit and delete various types of data. Multiple reports we built to view the data. Custom calendar application was incorporated to view upcoming and past data.

I worked in conjunction with web designer to build a custom CMS to manage website data. Password protected tools were built for bulk data entry of static content on old website. Tools were built to manage obituary data and upload multiple photos. A guestbook entry tool was created for users to submit and display entries pending approval through a password protected back end tool.

The site was completely recoded with PHP and Oracle. The guts of this site consist of password protected tools for employees and dealer to manage their advertising catalogs. Dealers can log in to manage their information, view account details and view and download catalogs. Employees have tools to be able upload pdf files and automatically generate images of them to view them through the web browser. Page content is also managed through these tools.

The client needed a full site; logo, design and development. He needed tools in place for him to be able to manage content on the site. An image upload tool was created to dynamically build image galleries. Code resizes and generates thumbnails for all images uploaded. News headlines are automatically generated on the home page, along with clicking through to the full news story.

This client needed a unique website design, logo and collection of tools be able to manage all data on the site. A custom content mangement system was written to accomodate his needs. Tools such as a news editor with the option to display English or Arabic text and upload multiple photos, along with the option to make story display featured on the home page were created. Various other tools were created to be able to manage schedules, races, drivers, results, create image galleries and page content including title and meta tags for SEO.

This client needed a website to locally promote her new running group. She needed a logo, site designed and built. Custom CMS tools were built so she could easily manage upcoming race events and the next run date/details. 4Images image gallery was customized and incorporated.
