Save a Copy of Your Content

If you have a Google Business Profile website, then you know the service is shutting down. If you haven’t done anything to build a new website yet, you need to make it a priority. As of March 1, 2023 Google is starting to redirect the sites to your Google Business profile page. After June the redirect will no longer work.

If you are stuck with how to rebuild your site, I provide some alternatives to free website builders and paid website options to replace your Google Site.

If you want to keep the content from your profile website, then I recommend saving a copy of it asap before it is no longer accessible.

Here are 2 quick ways to do this.

Copy and paste all content into a text editor

  1. Go to your business site url:  ie  https://YOURBUSINESSISTENAME.business.site
  2. Click anywhere on the page.
  3. Copy all content by holding the control key on your keyboard <ctrl> (in Windows) and click A. Then <ctrl> C. All content is now on your clipboard.  I explain more ow to copy and paste here.
  4. Open up a Word doc or Google Doc
  5. Click on the blank documents and then holding the control key on your keyboard <ctrl> (in Windows) and click V.  This will paste all of the content in a document to reference later .

That’s it! Your content is now saved so you can reference it once Google starts to redirect the site.  When you rebuild your site, you now have the content to reference.

Keep in mind this does not capture the HTML and it is not going to look like the web page, its just capturing the text and images.
