How To Copy a Link is Simple

Copy and pasting a link is easy once you understand the steps.

My work as a website programmer is all remote. With almost all of my communication over email, knowing the specific web page you are referring to is important for me to be able to duplicate what you are referring seeing. 

How to copy and paste a link address from your browser into email is easy. The same concept applies for copy and paste a link from email to your browser too.

On a desktop/laptop

  1. Click anywhere on the address bar. It will highlight the URL in blue.
  2. Copy the selected text by right clicking with your mouse and select/click the text “Copy”.
    An alternative option is using keyboard shortcuts. Press the < Ctrl > key (Windows) and clicking the “c” key. Link is copied.
  3. Then go to your email and click in the body where you want to insert the link.
    Right click with your mouse and select/click the text “Paste”.
    An alternative option is using keyboard shortcuts. Press the < Ctrl > key (Windows)  on your keyboard and clicking the “v” key.

That’s how to copy a link and paste a link. This works for email, or any other document you would like to copy it to. i.e. Word, Excel….

How to copy a link on iPhone

  1. Tap/press on the address bar, long enough to see a pop up menu. You will see the option to copy. Tap copy.
  2. Open your email message that you want to paste the link.
  3. Tap/press inside the email body where you want to include the link. You will see a pop up menu with the option to paste. Tap paste.

How to copy a link URL on Android

On Android phones using Chrome browser, it is simpler.

  1. Tap/press the link in the browser address bar.
  2. You will see 3 icons, Share, Copy or Edit.  Click the copy icon.
  3. Tap/press inside the email body where you want to include the link. You will see a pop up menu with the option to paste. Tap paste.
