The definition of an online database is a database that is on a network (like the Internet) compared to a local database that is accessed locally on a single computer. Databases on the Internet are built to communicate with website code. Database driven websites are coded “talk” to the database to display data in a useful and readable format.
Web Based Database Solutions
Building a database driven website is not difficult. Most web hosting plans include free online databases accessible through your hosting control panel. MySQL is the most common database used when building a data driven website, so it’s probably the best place to start. If your web hosting uses cPanel, you are working with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and have MySQL databases already available to you.
When I say building an online database website is not difficult, I am not suggesting that if you have little/no experience in the field of web development and or web database design creation that it won’t be a challenge. Of course it will! Let an experienced web database developer like me design and build a database driven website for you.
